Authortube All Hallows Write Tag

Hi everyone, Trynda here.

Today, I’m bring you the All Hallows Write Tag. I first saw this on Alina Popescu’s channel and I think I’ve also seen it on , of the dark one, basically everybody. So, I decided that I would do this one as well because it just seemed like a really fun tag to do. So, let’s get into it. This tag was originally started by Sam Caste and there are really only two rules to it and that is to give a brief description of your work in progress and use a character no more than three times. So, the work in progress that I’m going to talk about is on fallen wings and that is a paranormal urban fantasy that is based around the main character Larathel. The story follows Larathel as she’s reaped from an attempt at a normal life and pulled into this world that’s even unusual for her when she finds out that she’s a god in hiding and it comes to the point where she is forced to confront the god who is actually trying to kill her. So, with a brief summary done, I will get into the questions.

1. It’s Halloween night, what’s your main character dressed up as?

Larathel would probably dress up as poison ivy because she has a thing with plants and she’s really into growing them and maintaining them and giving them life because she’s a mother nature like character.

2. Which character is the one who shows up up the costume party without a costume?

This would have to be Lilith because she’s a stick in the mud who just wants to be left alone to her books to find a way to get back to the celestial plain.

3. Which character has the most outrageous costume and what would they be?

It would probably have to be Gabrielle because Gabrielle uses her feminine vessel as a way to beguile male human beings more often than not and uses that sexuality to her advantage.

4. Werewolves, vampires and zombies are on the prowl. Which one go after which character?

Well, since the cursed fallen messengers are almost like vampires anyways, that’s probably what would go after my characters and I would say it would probably be Lucifer going after Larathel because Lucifer has lots of problems controlling his thirst and he’s had problems in the past with controlling himself around Larathel and her previous incarnations.

5. Who wins the prize for best costume?

Lavithin would win the contest hands down and that’s just because she puts a lot of time and effort into the way that she’s portrayed by her attire and she really likes flashy and intricate looking pieces and I would say that probably has to do with the dragon inspired nature that she’s supposed to have in her personality.

6. Who hands out the tooth brushes and toothpaste to the poor trick or treaters?

I’ll say that mastermind has to be the one that hands out this kind of stuff because she is another stick in the mud who just wants to get to business and she’s a no nonsense person and she won’t even want anything to do with candy or sweets or having a good time.

7. Which characters would decide to pair up and do an Angel/Devil costume together?

So, this is a bit of a weird question because the fallen messengers and Larathel and Lilith wouldn’t really think that it’d be tactful to dress as an angel and devil combo considering the subject matter and because they ended up on the wrong side of the celestial heavenly war but Gabrielle and Michael would wholeheartedly dress up as an angel and devil combination just to rub it in their faces and be dicks for no other reason.

8. Which character is too scared to even go to a costume party?

I don’t think there’s anyone who would be too scared because a lot of the cast of the fallen messengers are kind of super soldier-ask so, they’re not really afraid of a whole lot but I can think of Lilith, and Behemoth actually would want nothing to do with the costume party and would prefer to be left alone.

9. Who overdoses on candy?

So, this one, if has to be Pymon hands down just because he’s a very playful character and if he could eat candy, which he can, be would wholeheartedly overdose on candy just because that’s the type of personality that he is. And he really enjoys living life to the fullest and he would have no problem living with the consequences on overdosing on candy.

10. Who puts a hex on someone?

This would have to be Yaida wholeheartedly and this is because Yaida’s already placed the fallen vampire like curse on the fallen messengers and he would have no hesitation when it came to placing a curse or a hex on somebody else. Yaida is the kind of person who will hex or curse anyone who gets in his way and doesn’t really care and he would kill you before he would let you ruin his plan.

Method To My Madness | Podcasts

Hey everyone, Trynda here.

Today, I’m bringing you a Method To My Madness about podcast. I thought I would do this video instead of something about character sheets or outlining because everyone’s kind of doing that for NaNoWriMo already and I wanted to talk about stuff that gets me out of the slump when I’m writing and I just don’t feel like writing anymore.

So, I’ll get right into it then.

I’ll start first off with the Dead Robot Society Podcast. Dead Robot Society is hosted by the authors Terry Mickson and Paul E. Coole, listening to these two talk about writing always gets me back in the mood to start working on my manuscripts and start treating my work like it’s actually important and getting me out of those slumps when I just don’t feel like writing. The both of them are really funny and they have a very good dynamic together so, I’ll definitely recommend this if you’re looking for any podcast and you haven’t heard of them yet.

The next one I’m going to talk about is the Story Grid Podcast. It’s a podcast hosted by author and editor, Shawn Coin, and author Tim Crawl. These two go back and forth talking about story structure and story craft while team Tim works on his first fiction work. So, it’s a vey good podcast to learn about terminology and concepts that you might not have known about. And it sometimes makes you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing but at the same time, they talk a lot about topics that you don’t think you know but realize that you do know after listening to them especially Shawn explaining how authors go about writing stories and it’s really helpful. I find when I feel lost and I’m not sure where there’s a problem with my manuscript.

The next one I’m going to talk about is the Creative Penn hosted by Joanna Penn. The Creative Penn is a podcast that kind of touches all the basis that an Hindi author comes across while they’re publishing and marketing and doing all the things that they have to do to get their book into the world. I really like Joanna’s podcast because she’s got lots of industry news that I wouldn’t hear about otherwise and she has lots of different guests on that give a lot of different points of view and really get you thinking about things that you wouldn’t otherwise or give you knowledge about tools that you wouldn’t have known if you didn’t listen to the podcast. I found quite a few different handy tools through Joanna and the other podcasts and I really think that all three of these podcasts are really good at helping writers find different avenues to get their books into the world.

The next one’s a a bit new to me and that is the Sell More Books Podcast hosted by Jim Cockerel and Brian Cohen. I recently found out about them through the Creative Penn podcast, I started listening to them to find better ways to market my books and this podcast I found really helpful for finding out about different areas of the industry and market place like create space and KPD select that I just don’t have experience with because I don’t have a book that’s published through them. So, I found it very helpful for things that I just don’t have experience for and learning new things about marketing that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.

The last two I’m going to talk about aren’t really writing related and that is the Joe Rogan podcast and Rooster Teeth Podcast. I listen to these two podcasts because they have a wide variety of topics that aren’t writing related and they have a lot of different perspectives that I think is good to get the juices flowing for creativity and they have a comedic theme to them so, it’s cheerful and light and often quite funny. So, I think those two podcasts are really good because they don’t really hold anything back and they don’t have a specific aim other than entertainment. I definitely recommend it for anyone who’s looking to get some ideas or the juices flowing for brainstorming because they have a lot of different content that kind of suites a wide variety of people.

So, I think that’s if for now guys, make sure to like and subscribe to my channel if you like this video. Revival Episode 4 is still available for preorder, it launches on November 1st so, make sure to check out the link for that. Patrons can expect to see Revival Episode 4 within a week and there’s also some worldbuilding content that went up this last week for them so, make sure to check that out below if that’s something that you’re interested in. I reached 300 followers on my Twitter recently so, I decided to do a giveaway, by the time you’re seeing this video, the giveaway should be active. So, check out the link below for my insta freebie profile and you can get all the books available for free right now all in the same place.

I’d love to hear what you guys are listening to for podcasts so, leave them down below in the comments and I will talk to you guys later.

Manuscript Chat | The Messengers

Hi everyone.

Trynda here, bringing you another manuscript chat.

Today, I’m gonna be talking about the messengers which are basically a race that live in the celestial plane with the Elohim.

They are created through making a covenant of some sort whether it be for protection or companionship or really anything the Elohim and that soul make a pact for. Depending on what purpose they were made for, the messengers will look different but often times, they’ll have a base image that is inspired from different areas throughout history. Some taken from biblical references others from the Italian renaissance. Some of the base line features that the race of messengers have are huge wings that they can fly with, pale white skin, silver eyes, silver hair and a very tall, lanky but slightly muscular form.

Some of them are more muscular than some of them are not but it really depends on what they were created for because that’s going to assist them with the task they were assigned to do.

I don’t know if assigned to do is the right word because it’s kind of a ‘you help me and I help you’ agreement between the Elohim and the messengers. So, it’s not so much of a self serving thing although there are exceptions, it’s more of a agreement and respect for one another.

Among the messengers, there is also the high messengers which are basically the equivalent of an arch angel and that is the right hand or second in command of the Elohim that created them.

Once again, there are exceptions to this rule but more often than are not, the high messengers serve as body guards, companions and kind of a jack-of-all-trades that assist the Elohim whenever and wherever they can.

Some of the High Messengers that are in On Fallen Wings are Lucifer, Paimon, Michael and Gabriael. I think those are the few that I’ve mentioned, there are more that I can’t think of off the top my head but those are the ones that I’ve talked about so far.

Since the high messengers act as body guards, that are incredibly hard to kill and are often very skilled in the art of combat and various other trades that are appealing to the Elohim that created them.

So, I think that’s it for now guys. I’m going to put the sheet from my world bible up on my Patreon for Patreons to see, if you haven’t checked out my Patreon, make sure to check out the link below. (Revival Episode 4) launches on November 4 so, if you haven’t gotten your preorder and you’re looking my to get one, then make sure you head to the link below as well.

If you like this video make sure to leave a like and subscribe to my channel. If there’s something in particular you’d like me to talk about then leave a comment down below and I try to cover that in the next video.

I think that’s it for now and I will talk to you guys next week.

Monthly Update | 03/10/2017

Hi everyone, Trynda here.

Bringing you an update today from the Canadian human rights museum.

I found this nice little spot over on the side so I figured I’ll do a video here. There was a train and I think there are still trains so if it’s a little noisy I apologize about that, it wasn’t my intention to have a train in here.

So, up on the YouTube channel this month, we have a Manuscript Chat about the Elohim which are the gods in my universe and I also put up an Authortube Worldbuilding tag where I answered questions about world building. I also managed to get up a Book Bag video where I talk about what I thought of Neverwhere and what I’m going to be reading next.

On Patreon this month, I wasn’t able to get a short story up but I was able to get a few world building post up for Patrons and I’ve also put up a behind the scenes look at the cover for what I’m working on in November for NaNoWriMo so, you can go over there and have a look if you’re a one dollar Patron or more.

During September, I made sure to get the author Trynda E. Adair website all tuned up because it was looking a little stagnant so now it is looking freshly redone and it’s on a WordPress framework for anyone who’s interested. My reason for picking WordPress was a little bit more technical only because I work in php and WordPress already so I wanted to be able to have a website for something that I could already actively develop and maintain and fix if I needed to. That was a little bit more tactical for anyone who’s interested.

In October, you can expect to see some videos about prepping for NaNoWriMo. In November. I’m not gonna be working on a novel this year, I’ll be working on a series of short stories that I’m doing instead just because I wanna work on some stuff for my Patrons and get some exclusive stuff that they can look forward to.

I’m also going to be redoing the rewards for Patrons and goals because right now they don’t just make a lot of sense to me and I want to have stuffs that’s a bit more enticing and I want to make them a bit more rewarding for those who are actually being Patreons to me. So, I will give you guys updates on that as they come up and I will let you know.

If you’re looking for real time up to date updates, then I suggest heading over to any of my social media sites. You can check out my Facebook or my twitter. You can also check out my mailing list and get free short stories as well as updates every month on what I’m working on and I think that’s it for now guys so, if you have any suggestion on videos you wanna see during prep-tober, feel free to leave them down in the comment below. If you haven’t checked out my Patreon yet, have a look at that, the rewards and the goals are going to be changing soon so keep that in mind but if you have something you want to see, then feel free to leave a comment over on my Patreon or in the comments down below. So, I’ll make sure to leave all of the links below in the description for you guys. If you like this video or any of my other videos, make sure to subscribe and leave a like on the video and I will put up more like them.

So I think that’s it for now guys, I’ll see you guys later.
